Circularity
Circularity in Fashion
Fashion and its supply chain is the planet's third largest polluter (World Economic Forum). Fortunately, there has recently been an increase in sustainable fashion driven by conscious consumers. Circularity took a step forward, by using waste which is transformed in raw materials. This process allows manufacturers to create new products without having to use new resources.
It has been encouraging to witness established fashion brands and luxury groups paying more attention to renewable energy, sustainability, regenerated materials, and to slow fashion. Taken together these important actions form the Circular Fashion Economy, an agreement with the aim of reducing wastage of used materials being send to landfills , as well as reducing the amount of fabrics that are required.
Circularity process does not only involve manufacturing and fashion brands but also consumer buying fashion items less frequently and using it more often. It is everyone's responsibility to preserve our planet.
